- You may connect a real device to your Mac using a cable, or for iOS or tvOS apps, connect it over WiFi after you pair it with Xcode. For macOS apps, choose a scheme, then click the Run button in the toolbar. You can also run SwiftUI apps in the simulator or on a device using the controls in the preview.

I recently received a new MacBook Pro and started configuring debugging tools I had debugged ages ago on my personal machine. In doing so, I completely forgot that the iOS Simulator provided by XCode isn't added directly to the Applications directory; instead, you have to dig into the following directory to get to it:

Open Xcode - Window - Devices and Simulators. Check if there is any Simulator in left list,if not add the + button. Select Device Type and OS Version and click Create. Restart Visual Studio you will see the simulator in configuration. (I test with VS for mac 8.9.1 and Xcode 12.4. Enable and open the Web Inspector for iPhone and iPad. To use the Web Inspector for iOS on your Mac, grab your cable and connect your iPhone or iPad. Then, follow these steps to enable the tool. 1) Open Settings Safari on iPhone or iPad. 2) Scroll to the bottom and tap Advanced. 3) Enable the toggle for Web Inspector.

Since I don't like hassles, and you probably don't either, I quickly created a symbolic link for the Applications directory to alleviate the pain:

And with that bit of help, I can easily get to my iOS emulator, and then open iWebInspector and other mobile debugging tools. Sweet!
